A MESSAGE FROM VP RECRUITMENT

Dear Potential New Member,

Congratulations on choosing Iowa City to call home! I promise you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. These next four years are going to be filled with so many new experiences, challenges, and memories that will last a lifetime. But most importantly, they will be filled with amazing women who you will soon get to call your sisters for life. The women you will find during recruitment will be your biggest sources of happiness, your strongest motivators, and your best friends.

I remember being in your place just two years ago, so nervous but so excited, knowing absolutely nothing about what being in a sorority really meant. After walking through the doors and meeting the women of Alpha Chi Omega, I finally understood.

Recruitment is not about the outfits you wear or how cute your Zoom background looks. Recruitment is about connection. It’s about finding women who comfort you, support you, make you laugh, and never leave your side. It’s about having an amazing conversation with a woman and never wanting it to end.

I know the recruitment process can seem overwhelming and daunting, especially since it’s virtual this year. But just know that Alpha Chi Omega has been working so hard to be able to welcome you with open arms, and show you what our sisterhood of Real. Strong. Women. really means.

I promise the best is yet to come!

With love,

Hannah Krug

Vice President of Recruitment

After receiving a bid from Alpha Chi Omega, new members participate in an education program to help them make a smooth transition to college life and a lifetime membership in Alpha Chi Omega. This includes education on the history of Alpha Chi Omega nationally and at the University of Iowa, participating in sisterhoods, and meeting their "Bigs."
